Off Season Training

We would like to present the following options for your players in 2025.  

These programs are promoted through Orono Youth Hockey Association, but not directly run by the Association.

ALL registrations are currently open except for Karns Jr Program. Please register for your grade/age level for the Fall of 2025.

Months: June & July

Highlights:

This program is a replacement for what was formerly the STP option. We are very excited about this intense high level format.

We believe this will bring great strength to our summer options.

This is a combined effort between Fortis on Ice and Competitive Edge for Dryland.

Levels: 

Boys Program upper level Mites, Sq, P, B

Girls Program: 8u, 10u, 12u, 15u

Potential Schedule:

Traveling:

6 weeks/ 3 days per week 2 days of skills/dryland 1 day small game scrimmage format per week

Skills days will consist of 1 hour dryland followed by 1 hour on ice.

Limited to 30 players per level. Players may be divided by skill on ice.

COST: $750 for traveling

Mites:

2 days per week with both skills and dryland training (2 hrs)

COST: $500 for mites - u6/u8

Months: April/May (4/8 - 6/1)

August/September

Highlights:

Individual based skills training in a small group setting

High emphasis on puck handling, shoot and skating

Highly experienced coaches

Coach to player ratio 1:10

COST: $259

LEVELS: M1, M2E/M2W, M3, M4 Sq/U10, PW/U12, B/U15, HS boys and girls

8 weeks, 1 hour per week

Competitive Edge's reason for existing is to provide individualized coaching. This is hard to get in hockey because hockey is mostly done on-ice which is a scheduling challenge and creates a huge cost increase. So we've created a unique venue that facilitates quality repetitions without having to add the cost of ice. This cuts out about 2/3 of the typical cost compared to on ice lessons. So, whether its group of 1, 2, or 3, Comp Edge creates new opportunities for individualized training that is just hard to come by in Hockey.

The following training packages will be made available to Orono travel-level players. They will be group-of-two or group-of-three depending on sign ups for each slot.

Pricing:

• First time only trial session: $40 for an hour
• Base Rate: Commit to less than 5 hours of lessons - $110 per hour
• Package: Commit to 5+ hours of training lessons - $96 per hour
• on ice training does not include the price of ice rental

Over the summer only the Karn Jr. program skates at Orono on Fridays from 7:00-10:00am (30 minute lessons). This is for ages 4-8
