APPLICATIONS
Thank you for being here. We appreciate your interest in serving on a board or committee to further the development of our program. There is a great need for volunteer help and we want to let you know we truly appreciate your inquiry and application.
Applications are received at the end of March each year. New members enter the board room in April.
BOOSTER BOARD
OYHA is a volunteer-led organization that is governed by a 15-member Booster Board. Each member serves a three-year term, with approximately four of the 15 positions being up for election each year. The Booster Board runs the business operations of the organization and is responsible for promoting, sponsoring, and organizing youth hockey in Orono.
The Booster Board will be filling 4 positions this year.
Coaches Advisory Committee
The Coaches Board is filled by nine members who are nominated by the Booster Board, with three of the nine positions being up for nomination each year. Individual appointees must have been a registered coach with USA Hockey or MSHSL for at least one of the last three years. The Coaches Board is responsible for hockey operation items related to all youth Spartan teams. More specifically, they are responsible for recruiting, retaining, training, and selection of coaches. They are also responsible for tryouts, evaluations, team placements, and tournaments.
The Coaches Board will be filling 3 positions this year.
Warriors Co-Op Committee
The Co-Op Committee is filled by eight voting members with four being nominated by MWHA and four being nominated by OYHA. The Vice President from each association will participate on the Committee as additional non-voting members in regular course of business. The Co-op Committee will report directly to the OYHA and MWHA Boards.
Each appointee will serve a two-year term, approved annually. Each appointee must have a player participating in the Warriors program. Each age level (6U/8U, 10U, 12U, and 15U) should be represented on the committee. The Co-op Committee is responsible for hockey operation items related to all youth Warriors teams. They are also responsible for tryouts, evaluations, team placements, and relevant tournaments.
We are seeking strong administrators, along with an individual who would serve as a treasurer for this committee. The warrior co-op will be filling 3 positions this year. Two for 2-year terms and one for a single year term. Each year going forward, 2 positions will be available.
